Ways to Spruce Up Your Home for the Fall

With the cooler weather arriving, you may be thinking about decorating your home for the season. Now is a great time of year to add a few simple and inexpensive decorative pieces to give your home a warm, cozy look and feel.
  1. Autumn wreaths. The wreath you have on your door may be one that you’ve had hanging throughout the spring and summer months. Consider adding a wreath with orange, yellow, red or brown leaves, pinecones, acorns or other decorative pieces.
  2. Pinecones. Not only do pinecones give your home a pleasant smell, but they can also be used as accent pieces in baskets on tables.
  3. Miniature pumpkins. These small pumpkins can be used to line your sidewalk, patio, porch, driveway or inside your home on tables or your fireplace’s mantle.
  4. Blankets. The weather is getting colder, and it’s always nice to have a blanket nearby to cozy up in.
  5. Candles. Cinnamon, pumpkin and apple scents can give your home a welcoming and warm aroma. There are also fun fall decorative holders available you can use for your candles.
  6. Firewood. If you have a fireplace in your home, now is the time to bring in some firewood to get ready for those extra chilly days. Consider placing it around the fireplace in decorative, autumn-inspired baskets.
  7. Tablecloths or runners. Beautiful fall tablecloths or runners will give your kitchen or dining room a seasonal look and feel.
  8. Gourds. There are many different types of gourds you can purchase at farmer’s markets and pumpkin patches. These can be used in baskets or even as decorative centerpieces on your kitchen or dining room table.
  9. Throw pillows. Consider adding some throw pillows during the cooler months of the year so you have something to cozy up with. Beautiful red, orange or yellow pillows will give your living room a nice fall look.
  10. Welcome mats. This is a great time of year to purchase a new welcome mat for your front door. There are gorgeous autumn-inspired mats available at craft and home decorating stores.

Enjoy the rest of the fall season with a beautifully-decorated home!
