“…polite and efficient…”

When you live in an area that experiences harsh winters, it’s critical that your home’s heating system works as efficiently as possible to keep your family warm. Most people aren’t trained heating repair professionals, so when their heater stops working like it should, they depend on the experts to take care of diagnostic and repair work.

This is what happened with Thomas D. of Brockton, Mass. This satisfied customer said, “[I] called the company at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. [The] issue was resolved by 1:30 p.m. Friday. [The] workmen arrived within the allotted time frame [and] were polite and efficient.”

Thomas is enrolled in our affordable Heating Repair Plan. When he noticed that his home wasn’t feeling as warm as it should — even with the thermostat set at the usual comfortable temperature — he knew there was an issue. Instead of skimming through a phone book or looking online for a repair provider, he remembered his protection program with us.

He picked up the phone and gave us a call. A friendly, knowledgeable customer service representative listened to Thomas as he explained his heating problem. An appointment with a local service provider from our network was set up quickly so that Thomas’ family didn’t have to suffer in the cold November temperatures in a home without a functioning furnace.

So, what happened next?

The heating technician sent to Thomas’ home performed some diagnostic testing on the furnace. They noticed that there was an issue with the flame sensor.

With furnaces that operate on natural gas, the flame sensor is the component that creates a current of electricity when the gas is ignited as the heating system cycles on. When it’s not working properly, it doesn’t just cause problems for the heater, but could also pose a safety risk for the home’s inhabitants. Without it, an undetected flame could lead to a house fire since the flame sensor isn’t working as it should to deactivate the system’s fuel line.

The technician subsequently resolved the problem and Thomas’ heating system was working properly again.
