NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 21, 2013 - Oncourse Home Solutions announced that it has received the prestigious distinction of LEED© certification for its recently renovated office space at the East West Corporate Center in Naperville, Ill.
The certification demonstrates Oncourse Home Solutions’ commitment to sustainability and social responsibility by designing its office space to meet LEED criteria for energy efficiency and improved environmental and human health performance. The LEED—short for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design-rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for design, construction and operation of green buildings.
Oncourse Home Solutions renovated its office space at 1751-1771 W. Diehl Rd. off Interstate 88 and State Route 59, which services as its corporate headquarters for a premier provider of home protection products and service that supports more than 1.2 million customer contracts in 17 states. The company also operates a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business in Illinois.
“This certification aligns with our company's efforts to help our customers conserve energy by offering energy efficient heating and air conditioning equipment as well as improving indoor comfort by providing air quality assessments for the home,” said Robin Boren, president of Oncourse Home Solutions. “Just as we are committed to ensuring our customers are comfortable in their homes—we also want to provide that same experience for our employees at work.”
The project features numerous green components, including water-saving plumbing fixtures, an advanced heating and ventilation system, energy efficient equipment and appliances and a reduced construction waste program. The project also optimizes the use of natural daylight to reduce the amount of energy expended on lighting.
Here is the LEED certification by the numbers:
- 20 percent reduction of water use or an estimated annual reduction of 13,460 gallons
- 84 percent of the appliances and equipment are ENERGY STAR-qualified
- 22 percent of indoor furnishings and materials consist of recycled content
The office complex is owned by Redus One, LLC and managed by Foresite Realty Management, LLC.
